Prawn & Artichoke Pizza

Okay, dinner's been up & dinner's been served & dinner's been eaten.

I added some thin strips of squid, cut from a tube. Alas, I didn't have access to any basil, seems to be out of season atm, unless it's sold out before I hit the markets.

Took a quick pic of the pizza left in the pan, after hubby grabbed his. I made Ham, Cheese & Tomato for the kiddies, and thankfully there were no complaints that it wasn't from their favourite pizza joint, "The Pizza Pub", now affectionally known as "Gino's Pizza Empire".

FRIDAY - PIZZA NIGHT

I adore PIZZA! Any sort, but make it hot!

Sometimes it's just not practical to make it hot, so as I'm doing pizzas for our Friday Pizza Night, I shall have to adapt the recipe to everybody's taste.

The one on the right, is one I made a few months ago now, for a picnic of all things, but boy, was it yummo!

Tonight I'm doing ham & pineapple for the children, and I'll do a fancier one for us - the toppings being:
  • Artichoke Hearts
  • Sundried Tomatoes
  • Large Prawns
  • Capers
  • Black Olives
  • Brie
I think that's all, I'll sprinkle some chilli on mine after it's cooked. Pictures a'comin'

Tomorrow is Friday - PIZZA NIGHT!

Well, we usually get a take out, from the fabulous Pizza Pub. However, of late, we haven't been enjoying them so much and really loving the ones I've been making on the odd occasion.

Last weekend, it was the AFL Grand Final, I had some dough made up for the night before, but the children pleased for the take out as they get a robust serving of chips. I made a Prawn Pizza using the following ingredients:
  • Prawns
  • Artichokes
  • Olives
  • Capers
  • Sundried tomatoes
  • small amt Brie
I think that's all, as far as the main ingredients go & obviously the normal pizza toppings of tomato (I use a mix of tomato paste & tinned tomatoes), garlic, pizza cheese (mozzarella & grated cheese), parmesan & olive oil.

Thin Pork Sausages, Ratatouille & Garlic Potatoes

A simple meal this evening - I really need to mix the meals up a bit. We rarely have sausages, but I've found some decent pork ones at the supermarket, so I'm quite looking forward to them.

Ratatouille should compliment the sausages well.

Heat olive oil, add thinly sliced onions, salt, pepper, dried basil. Saute until golden then add zucchini sliced down the middle, then cut widthways to make semi circles. Add and mix well, then add a can of peeled tomatoes.

Dinner Went Well!

Mmmm, I pulled it off - the dinner, that is. I decided to change the menu a little, as I thought two of the flavours wouldn't gel, between the cherry tomato salad & gnocchi sauce. So, I baked the prawns & salmon in the oven, made a sun dried tomato creamy sauce, not a great deal, enough to dress the fish & the gnocchi, together with steamed broccoli. I think it worked pretty well. Hubby commended me, but I didn't get the "I'll have the one again".

Had an easy day, both boys at school, so no distractions. I motivated myself to get into listing some pics, managed to do 8 thus far. They're not selling very well, though - so this is a bit annoying. Probably only 1 in 5 or 6 - but that's better than nothing I s'pose.

Boys at home, finishing their school day at 3.00 p.m. The youngest smothered me in kisses, as usual, and wondered if the tooth fairy had left some money yet. His tooth came out this morning prior to going to school, his 2nd baby tooth he's lost. The first one, well, he did lose it as he went to sleep with it and woke up without it. I'm not sure what the tooth fairy pays these days for a tooth, maybe $2.00 should be ample.

Best shake a leg and get the cooking underway.

Phew!

Over & done with and the shopping went well. Only had to fork out for a pineapple Powerade, a bargain at $2.48.

So, now I should be organised to cook meals for a few days, seeing as though I'm 'back in the kitchen', where I belong.

Tonight will be grilled atlantic salmon with garlic prawns, a cherry tomato salad & ricotta gnocchi on the side. Hope it happens, sounds yummy to me.

Being Brave!

I'm taking my 5 y.o. son to the supermarket with my parents. Every single time I take him to the shops, I swear I'll never do it again! I want this, I want that - gimme, gimme, gimme. Mind you, he doesn't say 'gimme' - that is banned in our household, the the I want this, I want that is what I'll be hearing. I'll let the grandparents cave in to him as I am there to strictly shop.

My Lobster!

Fiddling around, doing this & that, I decided to make a header for this page. One hour later, I have used both Arc Soft & Photoshop, to create my lobster. What should I have been doing? Umm, washing, cleaning, tidying - ugh how boring!

A New Day!

Woke up feeling awful, yes, awful! Not from the Baked mustard honey chicken, must have been the bottle of wine. Just checked with hubby, and it actually was one of my preferred labels, not a cheap one, and not one I would expect to get a headache from. Oh well, I'll just have to suffer, nobody else to blame but myself (or hubby for buying it).
